NCAAF Picks sets up a pair of College Football Betting opportunities Thursday, starting with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish facing the Florida State Seminoles in the Champs Sports Bowl at the Florida Citrus Bowl (5:30 pm ET, ESPN).

College Football Odds have Florida State a 3-point favorite, while the moneyline betting odds have the Seminoles a -160 favorite and the Fighting Irish a +145 underdog. The over/under total is at 46, down from the opening number of 48.

Unlike many College Bowl Games’ combatants, these two teams have a head-to-head history, although they’ve met just three times since 1996 and their last meeting was eight years ago. The Seminoles routed the Irish 37-0 on Nov. 1, 2003 and easily cashed as a 12.5-point road favorite.

The Fighting Irish (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS) lost 28-14 to the Stanford Cardinals on Nov. 26 and failed to cover as a 7-point road underdog. The Seminoles (8-4 straight up, 6-6 against the point spread) won 21-7 against the Florida Gators on Nov. 26 and cashed as a 3-point road favorite.

Also Thursday, the Washington Huskies and the No. 12 Baylor Bears meet in the Valero Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome (9 pm ET, ESPN).

NCAAF Betting odds have Baylor as a 10-point favorite while the moneyline odds have Baylor as a -345 favorite and the Huskies a +315 underdog. The over/under total is at 78.

Washington is 11-5 SU in its last 16 games overall, and Baylor is 5-0 SU in its last five games overall.

NFL Football Picks sets up the “battle of the Big Apple” as the New York Giants clash with the New York Jets on Saturday at MetLife Stadium (1 pm ET, FOX).

NFL Betting Odds have the Jets as a 3-point favorite while the moneyline odds have the Jets as a -150 favorite and the Giants a +130 underdog. The over/under is at 45.5.

Besides the fact that this is the marquee matchup among a rare slate of Christmas Eve matchups, much of the hype surrounding this game is connected to the fact this is first meeting between the two New York NFL teams in four years. And both teams desperately need a win to even have a shot at a playoff spot, although it may be too late for the Giants.

It’s the Giants, in fact, who have ruled the head-to-head series. These teams have met just four times since 1996, but the Giants have won all four and covered the spread in three of them. When they last clashed on Oct. 7, 2007, the Giants won 35-24 and covered as a 4-point favorite.

The Giants (7-7 SU, 6-7-1 ATS) are coming off a demoralizing 23-10 loss to NFC East division rival Washington Redskins last Sunday. They failed to cover as a 5.5-point home favorite, while the score was under the total of 45.5.

The Jets (8-6 SU, 6-8 ATS) were routed 45-19 by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, failing to cash as a 3-point road underdog. The score was over the total of 44.

Free Picks previews the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers meeting on Monday Night Football at Candlestick Park (8:30 pm ET, ESPN).

NFL Betting has San Francisco a 2.5-point favorite. Moneyline odds have the 49ers as a -130 favorite and the Steelers a +120 moneyline underdog. The over/under total is at 38, down from the opening of 39.

Head-to-head, both teams are 2-2 straight up and against the spread going back to 1996. This is the first meeting since Sept. 23, 2007 when the Steelers routed the 49ers 37-16 and easily cashed as a 9.5-point favorite. The score was over the total of 38.

Pittsburgh (10-3 SU, 6-7 ATS) beat AFC North division rival Cleveland Browns 14-3 on Thursday Night Football on Dec. 8. The Steelers could not cash as a 14-point home favorite, and the score was under the total of 40.

San Francisco (10-3 straight up, 10-2-1 against the spread) lost 21-19 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Dec. 11. The 49ers failed to cover as a 3.5-point road favorite, while the score was over the total of 39.

Football Betting stats show that the Steelers are 8-1 straight up in their nine games overall, and 4-1 straight up in their last five games on the road. However, Pittsburgh has had problems covering on the road, at 2-5 ATS in its last seven games away from home. San Francisco is 5-0 SU in its last five games at home, and the total has gone over in six of San Francisco’s last nine games at home.

Football Picks previews the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons meeting in Thursday Night Football action at the Georgia Dome (8:20 pm ET, NFL Network).

NFL Odds have the Falcons as an 11-point favorite, after opening at -10.5. The moneyline odds have Atlanta a -620 moneyline favorite and Jacksonville a +450 underdog. The over/under total is at 42.

Jacksonville has dominated the head-to-head series at 3-1 straight up, but just 1-3 against the spread in the past four meetings. All four of those meetings have stayed under the total. This is the first meeting between the teams since Sept. 16, 2007, when the Jaguars won 13-7 but failed to cover the point spread as a 10-point home favorite. The score was under the total of 34.5.

The Jaguars (4-9 straight up, 5-8 against the spread) blew out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-14 on Sunday. They cashed as a 2.5-point road favorite and the score was over the total of 42. The Falcons (8-5 SU, 5-6-2 ATS) beat the Carolina Panthers 31-23 on Sunday and covered as a 3-point road favorite. The score was over the total of 47.

Sports Picks stats show the Jaguars are just 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games on the road. The total has gone under in all five of Jacksonville’s last five games on the road. The Falcons are 19-6 straight up in their last 25 games at home but just 1-2-2 ATS in their last five games at home. The total has gone under in five of Atlanta’s last five games at home.

College Football Picks sets up the Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights meeting in their annual showdown on Saturday at FedExField (2:30 pm ET, CBS).

NCAAF Betting odds have the Midshipmen as 7-point favorites, while the moneyline odds have Navy as a -270 favorite and Army a +230 underdog. The over/under total is at 58, up from the opening of 57.

Navy has pretty much owned this military battle, blowing the Black Knights out of the water nine times in the past 10 meetings, at 9-1 SU. The Midshipmen have covered the spread in seven of those games, at 7-3 ATS.

Army has not beaten Navy since 2001. Last season, the Midshipmen beat the Black Knights 31-17 and cashed as a 7.5-point road favorite. The score was under the total of 52.5.

But both teams are having less-than-stellar seasons.

The Black Knights (3-8 straight up, 5-6 against the spread) have not played since Nov. 19, when they lost 27-24 to the San Jose State Spartans and failed to cover as a 7-point road favorite. The score was under the total of 47.

The Midshipmen (4-7 SU, 6-5 ATS) were hammered 42-14 by the Temple Owls on Nov. 19. They failed to cover the 10.5- spread as road underdogs and the score was over the total of 60.4.

College Football Betting stats have Army at 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their past six overall, and the total has gone over in four of Army’s last six games overall.

Navy is 2-7 SU in its last nine games overall, and the total has gone under in four of the Midshipmen’s past six games overall.

NFL Betting sets up Sunday Night Football action that has the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints clashing at the Louisiana Superdome (8:20 pm ET, NBC).

NFL Picks have New Orleans as a 9.5-point favorite, while the moneyline betting odds have New Orleans a -400 favorite and Detroit is a +320 underdog. The over/under total is at 53.5.

Both teams are 3-3 straight up and against the spread in the past six meetings. This is the first meeting since Sept. 13, 2009, when the Saints beat the Lions 45-27 and cashed as a 14-point home favorite. The score was well over the total of 50.

The total has gone under in eight of the last 11 meetings overall and in four of the last six meetings in New Orleans.

The Lions (7-4 SU, 6-4-1 ATS) and are coming off a 27-15 loss against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day last Thursday, a game in which they failed to cover as a 4-point home underdog. The score was under the total of 54.5. The Saints (8-3 SU, 7-4 ATS) routed the New York Giants by a score of 49-24 on last week’s Monday Night Football. New Orleans had no trouble covering the spread as a 7-point home favorite.

Free Football Picks shows Detroit is 6-1 SU in their last seven games on the road while New Orleans is 5-0 SU in its last five games at home. The total has gone over in 16 of Detroit’s last 24 games overall and 6-19 SU in its last 25 games on the road.

Sports Picks previews NFL Thursday Night Football action when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field (8:20 pm ET, NFL Network).

Philadelphia opened as a 3-point favorite in NFL Betting Odds and many sportsbooks now have the Eagles as a 2.5-point favorite. Moneyline betting odds have Philly as a -145 favorite and Seattle a +125 underdog. The over/under total opened at 44.5 and is down to 43.5, with money coming in on the under.

Philadelphia (4-7 SU and ATS) was trounced 38-20 by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Sunday, failing to cash as a 3-point home underdog. The score was over the total of 50.

Seattle (4-7 SU, 6-4-1 ATS) was beaten 23-17 by the Washington Redskins on Sunday and were unable to cover as a 3-point home favorite. The score was over the total of 37.

Both teams are struggling, with NFL Picks stats showing Philadelphia is 4-10 SU in its last 14 games overall and 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games overall. But Philadelphia is 5-2 SU in its last seven games on the road. Seattle is just 2-4 SU in its last six games overall but strong against the spread at 6-2-1 ATS in its last nine overall. The total has gone over in five of the Seahawks’ last six games at home.

Head-to-head, Seattle is 4-3 SU and ATS in the past seven meetings. This is the first meeting since Nov. 2, 2008, when the Eagles won 26-7 and cashed as a 7-point road favorite.

NFL Betting sets up the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers clashing in a battle of AFC West division rivals on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium (4:15 pm ET, CBS).

San Diego is a 6-point, -260 moneyline favorite in NFL Picks odds, while the Broncos are a +220 underdog. The over/under total is at 42.

Denver (5-5 SU, 5-5 ATS) beat the New York Jets 17-13 last and cashed as a 6.5-point home underdog last Sunday. The score was under the total of 39.5. San Diego (4-6 SU, 2-8 ATS) lost against the Chicago Bears 31-20 on Sunday and failed to cover as a 4.5-point underdog. The score was over the total of 45.

Denver is 4-1 SU in its last five games overall, and 4-11 SU in its last 15 games on the road. The total has gone over in 15 of Denver’s last 23 games. San Diego is 0-5 SU and ATS in its last five games overall, and 1-4 ATS in its last five games at home.

Sports Picks bettors should note San Diego has dominated the recent head-to-head series as it is 8-2 straight up and 7-2-1 against the point spread in the past 10 meetings. Both of the last two meetings have gone over the total, and the over/under is 6-3-1 in the past 10.

This is the second meeting of the season, as the teams squared off on Oct. 9 and the Chargers won 29-24 and cashed as a 3.5-point road favorite. The score went over the total of 47.5.

Last season, the Chargers won both matchups, beating the Broncos 33-28 on Jan. 2 but failing to cover the spread as a 5.5-point road favorite, and winning 35-14 on Nov. 33, and easily cashing as a 9-point home favorite.

Sports Picks sets up the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs meeting on Monday Night Football at Gillette Stadium (8:35 pm ET, ESPN).

The Patriots opened as a 14-point favorite and money on New England has driven the spread up to -16 in NFL Betting. The moneyline odds have the Pats as a -1000 favorite and the Chiefs as a +800 underdog. The over/under total is at 46, down from the opening number of 48.

Kansas City is 4-5 SU and 5-4 ATS. The Chiefs lost 17-10 against the Denver Broncos last Sunday. They failed to cover as a 3.5–point home favorite and the score was under the total of 42.

New England is 6-3 straight up and 5-4 against the point spread. The Patriots beat AFC East rival New York Jets 37-16 on Sunday Night Football. The Patriots covered as a 1-point road underdog, while the score was over the total of 47. Patriots’ pivot Tom Brady threw for three touchdowns.

Head-to-head, New England is 5-3 SU and ATS in the past eight meetings. The teams last met on Sept. 7, 2008, when the Patriots won 17-10 but failed to cash as a 16-point home favorite. The score was under the total of 43.

Over/under bettors should note that the last time New England played a MNF game that was under the total was 1998. Since then, the Pats are 7-0-1 on the over in eight Monday night tilts.

New England is 20-3 SU in its last 23 games at home.

NFL Betting previews the New York Jets facing the Denver Broncos in Thursday Night Football action this week at Sports Authority Field at Mile High (8:20 pm ET, NFL Network).

The Jets are in desperate need of a win after Tom Brady and the New England Patriots stunned them on Sunday Night Football last weekend. Denver, with quarterback Tim Tebow, have won two straight and can win the AFC West division. They are only a game behind the imploding San Diego Chargers.

New York (5-4 SU, 4-5 ATS) lost to the Patriots 37-16 and could not cash as a 1-point home favorite and the score was over the total of 47. Denver (4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS) beat AFC West division rival Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 on Sunday and cashed as a 3.5-point road underdog and the score was under the total of 42.5.

The Jets are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games on the road but are 14-7 SU in their last 21 games on the road. There is a major “over” trend as total has gone over in 11 of the Jets last 15 games overall and in 14 of the Jets last 16 games on the road.

NFL Picks stats show Denver is 1-4 SU and ATS in its last five games at home, and the total has gone over in five of Denver’s last five games at home.

Denver is 5-3 SU and ATS in the past eight meetings, and the teams last squared off on Oct. 17 last season, when the Jets won 24-20.
