Free Picks sets up two early-week matchups, starting with the Northern Illinois Huskies and the Toledo Rockets meeting in a MAC conference clash Tuesday at the Glass Bowl (7 pm ET, ESPN2).

College Football Betting odds have the Rockets as a 7-point, -330 moneyline favorite. The Huskies are a +270 underdog, and the over/under total is 67.

The Rockets will be out to revenge a 65-30 loss to the Huskies on Nov. 9 last season. The Huskies covered as an 11.5-point home favorite.

The Huskies (5-3 SU, 3-5 ATS) have won three straight and are coming off a bye. They edged the Buffalo Bulls 31-30 on Oct. 22 but failed to cover as a 14-point road favorite. The Rockets (5-3 SU and ATS) are also coming off a bye week. They won their fourth straight with a 49-28 victory over the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks 49-28 on Oct. 22. They covered as a 16.5-point home favorite.

On Wednesday, the Temple Owls and the Ohio Bobcats battle for first place in the MAC conference East division at Peden Stadium (8 pm ET, ESPN).

Sports Picks odds have Temple as a 4-point, -175 moneyline favorite and the Bobcats a +155 underdog. The over/under total is at 45.5.

Ohio won 31-23 when the teams last met on Nov. 16 last season, covering as a 10-point road underdog. The Bobcats are 3-1 straight up and 3-0-1 against the spread in the past four clashes.

Temple (5-3 SU, 6-2 ATS) is in first place in the MAC East division, and Ohio (5-3 SU, 3-5 ATS) is second place in the division.

The Chargers covered as a 4-point home underdog and the score was under the total of 45.5.

The Chargers (4-2 SU, 2-4 ATS) were beaten 27-21 last Sunday against the New York Jets, and failed to cover as a 1-point road underdog. The score went over the total of 43. The Chiefs (3-3 SU, 4-2 ATS) blanked the Oakland Raiders 28-0 last Sunday, and covered as a 3.5-point road underdog. The score was under the total of 41.

NFL Picks previews the marquee matchup of Week 8 in the NFL, when the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers clash Sunday at Heinz Field (4:15 pm ET, CBS).

NFL Odds have New England a 3-point, -145 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 52.5.

The Patriots (5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS) are coming off a bye week and won 20-16 in their last game on Oct. 16 against the Dallas Cowboys, but could not cash as a 6.5-point home favorite and the score was under the total of 54.

The Steelers (5-2 SU, 3-4 ATS) won 32-20 against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday and covered as a 4-point road favorite and the score was over the total of 46.

In the head-to-head series, the Patriots are 7-3 straight up and 8-2 against the point spread in the past 10 meetings. The teams last met on Nov. 14 last season, when the Pats won 39-26 and cashed as a 4-point road underdog. The score went over the total of 45.

Also Sunday, Football Picks features the Cleveland Browns and the San Francisco 49ers clashing Sunday at Candlestick Park (4:15 pm ET, CBS).

San Francisco is a 9-point favorite and the over/under total at 38.5.

The teams have not met since 2007, when Cleveland won 20-7 and covered the spread as an 11.5-point home favorite. The score went under the total of 40.5. Cleveland is 2-0 SU and ATS in the past two meetings.

Illinois is 6-2 SU and 3-5 ATS this season and lost 21-14 against the Purdue Boilermakers last Saturday, a setback that resulted in the Fighting Illini being dropped from the Top 25 national rankings. Illinois failed to cover in that game as a 3-point favorite and the score was under the total of 49

Penn State is a solid 7-1 straight up and 2-6 against the point spread and beat the Northwestern Wildcats 34-24 last weekend and cashed as a 4-point road favorite, while the  score was over the total of 47

On the injury front, Fighting Illini WR Darius Millines is questionable with a foot injury, tackle Corey Lewis is questionable with a knee injury, and RB Troy Pollard is also questionable with a back ailment. For Penn State, RBs Brandon Beachum (ankle) and Stephfon Green (leg) are both questionable.

Illinois is 6-15 SU in its last 21 games on the road and Penn State is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home.

Free Picks sets up the winless Indianapolis Colts facing the struggling Tennessee Titans on Sunday at LP Field (1 pm ET, CBS).

NFL Betting Odds opened with the Titans as a 9-point favorite and they have already been bet up to -10.5. On the moneyline, Tennessee opened as a -474 favorite and Indianapolis is a +380 underdog. The over/under total opened at 42 and is up to 43.

The reason for the early line movement is not just the fact the Colts are without four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning, or the fact they’re winless after seven games. It’s more about Indianapolis getting routed 62-7 by the New Orleans Saints in a rematch of the 2010 Super Bowl on Sunday Night Football. The loss was the worst since the franchise moved to Indianapolis, and marks the most points the Colts have given up in franchise history.

New Orleans easily covered the spread as a 13.5-point home favorite and the score went way over the total of 49.

But Football Picks fans should note that Tennessee is also coming off an embarrassing loss, on their home field. The Titans lost were hammered 41-7 by AFC South division rival Houston Texans on Sunday, their first game after a bye week. The Titans failed to cash as a 2.5-point home favorite and the score was over the total of 44.

Head-to-head, the Colts are 7-3 SU but just 3-7 ATS in the past 10 meetings. The teams last squared off in the season finale on Jan. 2, when Indianapolis won 23-20 but failed to cover as a 9-point home favorite.

Meanwhile, the score has gone over the total in four of the Ravens’ last six games overall. The Jaguars are 0-5 straight up and 1-4 against the spread in its last five games overall.
