MLB Picks previews the New York Mets and the New York Yankees opening a three-game interleague set Friday in the latest installment of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium (7:05 pm ET, FOX).

MLB Odds have the Yankees as a -175 moneyline favorite, the Mets a +155 underdog, and the over/under total at 9.

The Mets will give the ball to righthander R.A. Dickey, who is 1-5 with a 5.19 ERA this season. He last pitched Saturday against the Houston Astros, going 5 and one-third innings in a 7-3 loss.

The Yankees will have righthander Freddy Garcia on the mound. Garcia is 2-3 with a 3.06 ERA and last pitched Sunday in a 7-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox, going five and one-third innings.

Both the Mets and Yankees have been struggling recently, although both have managed to turn it around this week with wins.

The Mets (20-22 SU) are fourth in the NL East, 5.5 games behind the first-place Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets picked up a pair of wins against the Washington Nationals, shutting out the Nationals 3-0 on Wednesday and 1-0 on Thursday.

The Yankees (22-19 SU) are in second place in the AL East, two games back of the Tampa Bay Rays, and stopped a six-game slide this week with a 6-2 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. New York then beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-1 on Wednesday.

The Yankees are 7-3 SU in the past 10 meetings. The teams last met June 18 to 20 last season in a three–game series won 2-1 by the Yankees.

Basketball Picks previews the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks battling Thursday in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals at the American Airlines Center in Dallas (9 pm ET, ESPN).

NBA Odds have the Mavericks as a 5.5-point favorite and the over/under total at 199.5.

Dallas grabbed a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series when it beat the Thunder 121-112 in the opener on Tuesday. The Mavs cashed as a 6-point home favorite and the score went over the total of 194.5.

Dallas is now 3-1 straight up and against the point spread going back to the three-game season series between the teams, which the Mavericks won 2-1 SU and ATS. Dallas is 6-4 SU and 4-6 ATS in the past 10 meetings, and four of the past five have gone over the over/under total.

The Mavericks were coming off a long break, as they swept the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers in four straight games in the conference semifinals, closing out the series May 8. The Thunder hardly had any rest, as they needed seven games to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, with the series ending Sunday.

Oklahoma City (55-27 SU, 43-38-1 ATS) is the No. 4 seed in the conference. Dallas (57-25 SU, 43-37-2 ATS) is the No. 3 seed.

Sports Picks previews the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls battling in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final on Wednesday at the United Center (8:30 pm ET, TNT).

NBA Odds have the Bulls as a 2-point, -135 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 181.5.

Chicago jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with a 103-82 win in Game 1 on Sunday. Chicago cashed as a 2-point favorite and the score went over the total of 180.5.

The win was Chicago’s fourth straight over the Heat after sweeping the season series, going both 3-0 SU and ATS. The Heat must be feeling a bit intimidated by the Bulls, who have obviously gotten into the heads of Miami players.

In Game 1, the Heat held a 23-20 lead at the end of the first frame, and the teams traded baskets and wound up tied 48-48 at the half. But Chicago went to work on both defense and offense in the second half and pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Besides the Bulls’ overall dominance over the Heat this season, Miami has to be concerned with the way Chicago shut down two-thirds of Miami’s Big 3 in the second half. Lebron James and Dywane Wade had a combined 11 points in the second half.

Chicago is 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in the past 10 head-to-head meetings. Miami has really struggled in Chicago, as well, going 1-5 SU and ATS in its last six games at the United Center.

Free Sports Picks previews the finale of a three-game set between two of the biggest rivals in pro sports, as the Boston Red Sox battle the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on Sunday (8 pm ET ESPN).

MLB Odds have the Red Sox as a -130 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 8.5.

The Red Sox were preseason World Series favorites but got off to a horrible start, losing their first six. However, those struggles will be largely forgotten if they can complete a sweep of the AL East rival Yankees when they meet in the nationally televised tilt Sunday night.

Boston routed the Bronx Bombers 6-0 on Saturday after edging them 5-4 in the series opener Friday. The Red Sox cashed Saturday as a +130 moneyline underdog and the score stayed below the total of 8. The Red Sox are now 6-1 SU in the past seven head-to-head meetings.

The Red Sox will start lefthander Jon Lester, who has a 4-1 record with a 2.96 ERA this season. Righthander Freddy Garcia gets the start for the Yankees. He is 2-2 with a 2.40 ERA so far this season.

Boston (19-20 SU) can move to .500 with a win, and within 3 games of the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays. New York (20-17 SU) has lost 4 straight games, and is 1.5 games back of the Rays.

Boston is 5-2 SU in its last seven games overall, and 8-4 SU in its last 12 games on the road. New York is 1-4 SU in its last five games, both overall and at home.

Sports Picks previews the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder meeting in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Sunday at the Ford Center (3:30 pm ET, ABC).

NBA Odds have the Thunder as a 6.5-point, -300 favorite favorite and the over/under total at 191.

The best-of-seven series is tied at three games apiece, with Memphis squaring the series with a 95-83 victory in Game 6 on Friday. The Grizzlies cashed as a 1.5-point home favorite and the score stayed under the total of 195.

Head-to-head, the Grizzlies are 6-4 SU and ATS in the past 10 meetings. But Memphis has had trouble beating the Thunder on the road, going 7-18 SU in the last 25 trips to Oklahoma City.

Memphis went 46-36 SU and 52-29-1 ATS this season, and is the No. 4 seed in the conference. Oklahoma City was 55-27 SU and 43-38-1 ATS, the No. 4 seed.

Zach Randolph led the Grizzlies with 30 points and 13 rebounds, and Memphis got a big boost with the return of O.J. Mayo to the starting lineup. Mayo had been moved from the starting lineup to the bench back in January, but coach Lionel Hollins thought Mayo’s outside shooting would give Randolph more room, so he started Mayo in place of Sam Young.

The Grizzlies have come a long way in the postseason, even by just making it to Game 7 of the second round. Memphis had never won a playoff series before this spring, and had never won a game when facing elimination.

The winner of Game 7 will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Final.

Basketball Picks sets up the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls squaring off in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday at the United Center (8 pm ET, TNT).

NBA Odds have the Bulls as a 2-point, -130 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 182.

Both teams are now the furthest they’ve made it in the NBA postseason since they last won championships. Chicago’s last trip to the conference finals was 1998, when the Bulls won the last of three straight NBA titles. Miami hasn’t gone this deep since 2006, when it won its one and only NBA championship.

It’s fitting the teams are meeting in the conference final, as the Heat (58-24 SU, 39-42-1 ATS) are the No. 2 seed in the East and the Bulls (62-20 SU, 50-31-1 ATS) the top seed.

Miami will be looking forward to the opportunity to avenge the season series between the teams. Chicago swept the three-game season series, going a perfect 3-0 straight up and against the point spread.

But the Bulls shouldn’t put too much weight in their dominance of the season series, as all three matchups were very close. Chicago won all three by a combined eight points, including an 87-86 squeaker the last time the teams met March 6. The Bulls cashed as a 5.5-point road underdog and the score stayed under the total of 188.5.

In the Eastern Conference semifinals, Miami beat the Boston Celtics 4-1 in their best-of-seven set, while the Bulls took out the Atlanta Hawks four games to two.

Basketball Picks sets up the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies squaring off in Game 6 of their NBA Playoffs Western Conference semifinal series on Friday at the FedEx Forum (9 pm ET, ESPN).

NBA Betting Odds have the Grizzlies as a 2-point, -130 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 195.5.

After the triple-overtime marathon in Game 4 on Monday, the Grizzlies seemed to be out of gas in Game 5, as OK City hammered Memphis 99-72 on Wednesday. The win gave the Thunder a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. The Thunder cashed as a 6-point home favorite and the score stayed well below the total of 196.5.

The head-to-head series now stands at 5-5, both straight up and against the point spread, in the past 10 meetings between the Grizzlies and Thunder. But Oklahoma City has a tough time in Tennessee, going just 1-4 SU in the past five trips to Memphis.

Over/under bettors should take note that eight of the past 10 meetings have gone over the total, and the total has gone over in six of Memphis’s last eight games overall, and in four of Memphis’s last six games at home.

Oklahoma City is 12-4 straight up in its last 16 games overall, and 5-2 straight up and 5-1-1 against the point spread in its last seven games on the road. Memphis is 17-6-1 against the spread in its last 24 games overall, and 6-1 straight up in its last seven games at home.

Sports Picks sets up the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks squaring off Thursday in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at Philips Arena (8 pm ET, ESPN).

NBA Odds have Chicago as a 3.5-point, -165 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 179.

Chicago leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 after picking up a win in Game 5 on Tuesday at the United Center. The Bulls can advance to the Eastern Conference Final with a win while the Hawks will be aiming to force a Game 7 on Sunday back in the Windy City.

The Bulls grabbed the series lead with a 95-83 win Tuesday. Chicago cashed as an 8.5-point home favorite, and the score went under the total of 180.5. The Bulls were paced by Derrick Rose and his 33 points. Chicago forward Taj Gibson also came up big, scoring all of his 11 in the final frame to help the Bulls seal the win.

Head-to-head, the Bulls and Hawks are 5-5 straight up and against the point spread in the past 10 matchups. The Bulls were 2-1 SU and ATS in the season series, which they wrapped up March 22 with a 114-81 rout of the Hawks. Over/under bettors should note that three of the five games in this series have gone over the total.

Chicago finished 62-20 SU and 50-31-1 ATS this season, the No. 1 seed in the conference.  Atlanta was 44-38 SU and 37-45 ATS, the No. 5 seed.

Sports Picks action on Wednesday has a pair of nationally televised NBA Playoffs matchups, opening with the Boston Celtics taking on the Miami Heat in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at the American Airlines Arena (7 pm ET, TNT).

NBA Odds have the Heat as a 7-point, -330 moneyline favorite and the over/under total at 181.

Miami can advance to the Eastern Conference Final with a win, as the Heat lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 after beating the Celtics 98-90 in Game 4 on Monday. The Heat covered as a 1.5-point road underdog and the score went over the total of 180.5.

A loss by Boston would mean the two teams that went to Game 7 in last season’s NBA Finals would have both been eliminated in the second round, as the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers were swept by the Dallas Mavericks.

Also Wednesday, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder square off in Game 5 of their Western Conference semifinal series at the Ford Center (9:35 pm ET, TNT).

NBA Betting has the Thunder as a 6-point, -270 moneyline favorite and the total at 197.

The best-of-seven series is tied at two games apiece after the Thunder won 133-123 in Game 4 Monday. The Thunder covered the spread as a 2-point road underdog in the game, which went to triple overtime. The score went over the total of 197.5.

Sports Picks previews the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls battling in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Tuesday at the United Center (8 pm ET, TNT).

NBA Odds have the Bulls as an 8.5-point, -500 moneyline favorite and the total at 181.

Atlanta evened the best-of-seven NBA Playoffs series at 2-2 with a 100-88 win in Game 4 on Sunday, with the Hawks covering the point spread as a 3.5-point home underdog. The score cleared the over/under total of 178.5.

The Hawks and the Bulls are at 5-5, both straight up and against the point spread, in the past 10 head-to-head meetings. Atlanta is 10-5 SU in its last 15 games when playing Chicago but is 2-4 SU in its last six games against the Bulls.

Bettors should note that when it comes to the over/under, the total has gone over in three of the past four meetings overall, in four of the past five meetings overall, in five of the past seven in Chicago, and in four of Chicago’s last five games.

The Hawks have struggled on the road recently, going 2-7 SU in their past nine games on the road, while the Bulls are a dominating 22-2 SU in their last 24 games at home. The Bulls have struggled to cover at home, going 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games at home.

Atlanta went 44-38 SU and 37-45 ATS this season, and is the No. 5 seed in the East. Chicago was 62-20 SU and 50-31-1 ATS, and is the No. 1 seed.
