Both teams made small moves in the NCAA Basketball rankings on Monday, Purdue taking a slight tick upwards and Wisconsin headed south.
The Boilermakers have looked like one of the best teams in College Basketball at times, and incredibly average at others points this season. Purdue moved from 12th to 11th in the AP Top 25 Poll and two spots from 12th to 10th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Badgers dropped two spots from 17th to 19th in the AP and three spots from 15th to 18th in the ESPN/USA Today poll after an upset loss against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday.
Purdue (18-4 SU, 12-6 ATS, 7-2 Big Ten) got revenge for a loss earlier this season against conference rival Minnesota, beating the Golden Gophers 73-61 on Saturday. The Boilermakers cashed as a 9-point home favorite.
Wisconsin (15-5 SU, 10-6 ATS, 5-3 Big Ten) lost 56-52 to Penn State on Saturday, failing to cover as a 3.5-point road favorite.
Purdue is 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in the past 10 head-to-head meetings. In two meetings last season, the Boilermakers won the last clash 60-57 but couldn’t cash as a 9.5-point home favorite, and the Badgers won the first 73-66, covering as a 1.5-point home underdog.
